Future Trend of Study

I read a great article by David Hirning from MSN Encarta about environmental degrees actually meet growing demand for workers today. And it's truly a thrilling news that people actually are taking action into this issue.

According to the article , one school that is capitalizing on this "green wave" is Cascadia Community College in Seattle. The school recently created a two-year program called Environmental Technologies and Sustainable Practices, which is specifically designed to prepare students for the growing environmental job market. Apart from this , Advanced degrees in the environmental field are also becoming more valuable and prevalent. One of the best is the master's program at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., which has been around for more than two decades. Although it's not new, the program is suddenly drawing more interest from students who want to make a difference along with making a living.

Instead of encouraging our children to become a lawyer , doctor etc when they grow up , the parents of today should switching their interest by teaching their children more on environmental issue and cultivate the "green" generation!

Endless Bloom - 無限の花

The hibiscus plant at our front yard always presents in it's endless bloom. It makes our house look very lively. With it's big red flower , the hibiscus plant makes our life full of color too.The children love it very much and they even brought the hibiscus flowers to school for Science teaching material once.

Having a green garden with some flowers not only can beautified our home but it also will bring great effect to out living environment too.If you can't have a garden , you can always alternatively have a few pot of plant in the house. It really make a change of your life.

Mid Autum Festival - 半ば秋祭

We had a fantastic Mid Autum festival last week. The children really had some great time playing paper lantern and candle together. The adult also enjoyed ourselves very much by looking at them and recalled our childhood.
We hardly can found the traditional paper lantern in the market. And less people celebrated this festival in the traditional way. It's mean whole family gather around in the garden having moon cake and drinking tea. The most of all is the reunion that matter.Hopefully our next generation will still keep up with the tradition and remember the true meaning of living.

Hair - 髪

Went to the salon last week and had my hair cut. And this time, I had my long and straight hair which I kept for about ten years cut short.Felt fresh and young after that! Most of all , I won't need much time to keep my hair stay clean and look good all the time. On the other hand , save up lots of resource too.

Life may need some changes to make it lively and stay challenge. To keep our life style changed toward green life will be a great and good challenge too!

Green Project - 緑のプロジェクト

How do you disposed the engine oil bottle?

We are planning a green project at my son's school which called " Green Worm ". The school had dispatched note to all parents to invite them to join the project by giving away their used engine oil bottle regardless of color and shape. We found a very good example from a friend's website which will be our base model and it looks more or less like this photo. The green project will be held at 17 September 08 which is the school public holiday. Hope everything goes well! And most of all , we hope this event will bring up some awareness on recycling to the community!

Beijing Olympics: Fantastic Green Fireworks

Did you watch the spectacular fireworks display at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing ?According to Official Beijing Olympics Website the bangs and booms will cause little damage to the planet than they usually do. It is because the firework is designed originally for indoor use, the ‘cold’ fireworks reach a temperature of ‘only’ 270C (518F) and quickly cool to 100C (212F), protecting the membrane structure of the new National Stadium where the display takes place.

According to Wang Ning, in order to highlight the characteristic of a 'Green Olympics' , some of the fireworks at the Opening Ceremony is used small smoke powder, or so-called 'minimum smoke powder'. Some sophisticated launch tech is reduced the smoke and dust to minimize the impact or pollution to the environment. This is really a wonderful green surprise from China and something that adds a nice little touch to the games.

Nature Poem - 自然の詩

Nature's Favorite Color

The green foliage is an attractive sight
On the vast landscape on a clear summer day,
As the white daisies gradually unfold along the side
Of a winding roadway that is somber and gray.

It is a picturesque view that one will readily admit,
Blesses the color of green to the greatest height,
And yet it is a scene that enlightens one's mind
With euphoria and great pleasure and delight.

It is not the beauty of the unfolding rose,
Nor the mellow sunflowers near the old mill,
But the color green - Nature's matchless green
On the highlands that gives one a welcomed thrill.

It is beholding of the color of green,
On the growth of leaves on a swaying tree,
And on the landscape far and wide indeed,
As green is Nature's favorite color for all to see.

Beautiful Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Memory - メモリ

glitter-graphics.com
Recently , I had met a primary school friend who was once a buddy of mine and we had found out that it had been so many years since we last met. We looked different and with distance that like stranger. I felt sad instead of happiness for our acquaintance.

Somehow, memories started to expand unlimitedly in my mind like an old movie. But the person that sat in front of me can’t fit in my memory at all. I told myself that after all this while, we had our own different life experience and stories which totally without connection of each other. This might be the best reason for the wall that built between two of us. However the meet up was short and shallow.

In order to keep my precious memory in my heart with perfect remembrance, I will not meet her again.

Tree - 木

I was so furious after seeing those people cutting down the big big trees that happened to be nearby their houses.I wondered what had those precious old trees done to them. Maybe they are lazy to clean up the falling leaf or just wanted to show off their newly renovated big houses! And yet not action can be taken against them cause the land are theirs.

These people might not know that trees can beautify our surroundings, purify our air, act as sound barriers, manufacture precious oxygen, and help us save energy through their cooling shade in summer and their wind reduction in winter.

I hope whoever cut down a tree can plant a new tree .In fact it will takes many years for the tree to grown as tall as the cut down tree. But by doing so we can return to a more natural, less artificial environment. Birds and other wildlife are attracted to the area. The natural cycles of plant growth, reproduction, and decomposition are again present, both above and below ground. Natural harmony is restored to the urban environment!

Let's plant a tree today!

Water Supply - 水の供給

glitter-graphics.com

We had just experienced an unforgettable 10 hours without water supply at our residence area! And you know what? My kids said they rather have no electricity supply than water supply! Because they truly had some very difficult time. When we heard the sound of the pressure caused by the water from the tap , we actually cheered up in unison !

We had to have our lunch and dinner at restaurant which needed to travel quit far from our place. And it was the normally school - work Tuesday which many schedule needed to follow. We cant flashed the toilet after using , this might be the worst for my kids. And many more other inconvenient suddenly ahead of us and disturb the normally life.

But out of all, this was the best moment for me to tell my children how important the water is ! They sure will personally feel how hard it is to survive without water supply. And hopefully they will not take everything for granted and be more aware with their day to day life.Besides, clean water is our very precious and valuable resource on earth!

Bond

Do you know"Bond"?NO...not the James Bond but the hot hot ladies group!

"Bond" is a stunningly attractive female string quartet which made up of Haylie Ecker, Tania Davis, Gay-Yee Westeroff, and Eos (who has no last name). You can have details of them here Bond .Their music seems to be an exciting and original blend of classical, world rhythms and lively dance beats. But underneath it all, one can easily recognize that all of the members of this quartet have a deep love and understanding of classical music. They are still my favorite musical group even their last released album was at 2005 !

This is one of the fantastic music video which I wish to share with you!

China Olympic Mascot - 中国オリンピックのマスコット

From the official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic games , I found many useful information about the Olympic games. I specially notice about the official mascots of the game. Love them! But actually they have important meaning to bring to the world.

From the official website it said :The Olympic Game
"Like the Five Olympic Rings from which they draw their color and inspiration, Fuwa will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace -- and good wishes from China -- to children all over the world.

Each of Fuwa has a rhyming two-syllable name -- a traditional way of expressing affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow.

When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say "Welcome to Beijing," offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games.

In the ancient culture of China, there is a grand tradition of spreading good wishes through signs and symbols. Each of Fuwa symbolizes a different blessing -- and will honor this tradition by carrying their good wishes to the children of the world. Prosperity, happiness, passion, health and good luck will be spread to every continent as Fuwa carry their invitation to Beijing 2008 to every part of the globe."

Which Fuwa you love the most?

Decision Making

"What to eat today?", "Anything!", "Where to eat today?", "Anywhere!" ......How many time these kind of conversation happened in our daily life? Maybe countless. How I wished that was a place to eat by the name of "Anywhere" or "Anything" kind of food to order at that particularly moment! This deal with our decision and most of all patient!

Do you always have hesitation when making up decision?Specially important decision. Or do you being restricted to really make up your own mind? Under many circumstances , we really do need to consider other people feeling, thinking and opinion. We never can freely follow our will in an original form.People use to be very judgmental."Your shoes is beautiful!" ,"You look lovely today!".....are these praising or just being judgmental ? I never know. I think if it's really what exactly what you think or your true feeling ,it should be alright.Furthermore, how often can we hear some hearty praising! So in order to make most people happy , we normally become unhappy. What would you like to be?

Nutmeg - ナツメグ

What a wonderful surprise I have today! My dear friend,Florence, she bought me two packets of perserved Nutmeg from Malaysia. I had been longing to eat this exquisite fruit for so long!I can't buy any at all where I live.So it is really precious to me!

Don't mistaken me for eating the brown Nutmeg powder which is a superb spice for some cuisine. What I like the most is the pulp of the nutmeg. Nutmeg is not a nut,but the kernel of an apricot-like fruit. The pulp of the nutmeg after some good preservation with sugar,it really taste exotic and heavenly good! You must try it someday.

Shoes - 靴

I like Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) from Sex and The City the most out of the four hot ladies. The biggest reason for me to choose her over the other is "shoes".She loves shoes and so do I. Women simply adore shoes . I'm sorry if it's not you.

Did you suffer from foot pain, blisters, corns or even broken toenail? I did.I am one of those who sacrifice foot comfort for fashion.

Yesterday,my doctor Christina told me,"Do you know that finding a pair of shoes that fit which means healthier feet?So please stop buying and wearing those dangerously high or ill-fitted shoes!".This was when I consulted her for an unbearable blister on my toe.

I think now is about time for me to choose a pair of shoes and sneakers not for fashion but for comfort.

Gift - 贈り物

I was hunting for a perfect gift for my son's classmate birthday few days ago. Finally I bought a latest PSP game for him.In fact ,this was what my son wanted for himself and he thought this will served good to his friend too.We actually had some argument over what to buy for his friend. No matter how unwillingly ,I gave in at the end cause I wanted to show my son that I respected his opinion. What we argued about was how much his friend needed the item and for what purpose. To my son, Samuel ,entertaining counted all.But not to me.

It was once, I bought a lovely soft toy for my five years old niece, Joey.I had it wrapped with precious present paper which full of love and in pink. I loved the wrapping so much that I almost wanted to keep it for myself. But I didn't. She torn down the present without spending more than 5 section on the looking of it.On that moment, my heart as if broken into pieces together with that nice present wrapping. From that day onward, all my present will be with simple wrapping or even without any. Thanks to my little niece ,I cut down on buying wrapping paper and the time on doing so.

What is your perfect gift definition? Depend On the value ,meaning or usefulness? To me ,usefulness is the major concern

Story - ストーリー

Wish to share a true story from a friend of mine .

Germany is a highly industrialized country, when it comes to Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Siemens…… no one does not know about it.In such a developed country, people's lives there must be to savor the best in life. Before heading to Germany , they tried very hard to figured out the country and full of expectation.

Arrived at the port city of Hamburg, they habitually went to a restaurants. The local colleagues had been waiting to give them some welcome treat. Into the restaurant, they past across the big restaurant with few customer. More ridiculously was that one pair of lovers whose dining table only placed a plate with vegetables and two cans of beer. Was the meal too simple for a sweet gathering?

Another table was filled up with some old women whose hair were in white color .The waiter served their food quickly and they finished the food with no left over. They wouldn't want to pay too much attention on the ladies, but to hopes for a quick meal. Their locals colleagues were very understanding, let's them order as many as they wanted to.

With a few customer in the restaurant, their foods were served quickly, and their table was soon filled with food. The meal was ended quickly with many arrangement ahead of us.At the end,one-third of our food was left on the table. After someone paid the bill and they were out of the restaurant.

A person from the restaurant was calling them not far from the restaurant. They thought someone must had forgotten their belonging. They were so curious to saw that the few old ladies were arguing with the restaurant owner and which seems to be against them. She told them in English that the food they left was too many and too wasted. They felt funny and awkward by her behavior.

She was pissed off by one of them told her that they can afford to do so.And she called someone. An officer with uniform came after a while and tried to understand the situation. After finished hearing the story he issued them a ticket which was a fine of 50 marks. The local colleagues had to come up with 50 marks and said: "Sorry!" !The officer said to them,"Money is yours, but resources are the whole society, a lot of people in the world are lack of resources, you have no reason to waste! ".They were so ashamed !

Please check your refrigerator now and look inside...........

Life after death - 死後の世界

Anyone talk to you about organ donation before? What's your reaction? Normally , when someone mention organ and tissue donation to anyone and chances are, you'd get a bewildered look.

The complicated death and organ donation are difficult issues to think, let along talk about. Imagine how it might feel during the death of a loved one. Making a decision to donate the organs and tissues of a loved one who has just died is not easy.Actually,it is by pledging our own organs and tissues during out lifetime that we make this decision making process easier and less stressful for our relatives.

The key message for those that wish to have organ donation is that people need to get the facts about donation in order to make their own personal decision about whether to be a donor. And most importantly, they need to share that decision with family members in order to be sure that their wishes will be honored.

I have the idea of becoming an organ donor for sometime.Just haven't put it into action yet.I think this is about time to do sometime while we still can. There were too many disasters happening, nobody can predict what will happened the next moment in our life.

Remember, organ and tissue donation is the ultimate humanitarian act of charity!

Free Widgets - 無料のウィジェット

Widgets are elements often in the left or right columns of a blog, that enhance its usefulness.Widgets pull content or services from some other place on the Web, and put it into our personal page.It is really handy and easy to use.

Typically, widgets are built with Flash software from Adobe, or the JavaScript programming language, which ensures that they work with most Web browsers.Basically widgets can be group into three categories.

1.Self-expression widgets, like photo galleries, games or YouTube videos that you like.

2.Widgets that generate revenue for a blogger, like a box that displays auctions from a particular eBay category, or a blogger’s favorite DVDs from Amazon.com.

3.Site-enhancement widgets, like discussion forums, news feeds or a guest book, which provide better utility for your Web site

I think Widgetbox(www.widgetbox.com) is a site that spotlighting the newest and most popular widgets ; it offers more than 500 widgets.Widgets don’t benefit only blog visitors; some exist primarily for the benefit of blog publishers, showing, for instance, which other blogs are linking to their posts.

Most widgets are available free, though they usually carry links or logos that promote the site that supplies them, and they sometimes have advertising. Why not just try it out yourself? But remember don't over doing it!

Green Car - グリーン車

Ever hear of 'Green car"? Types of green vehicles include vehicles that go fully or partly on alternative energy sources than fossil fuel. Another alternative is to use alternative fuel composition in conventional fossil fuel-based vehicles, making them go partly on renewable energy sources.Examples of vehicles with reduced petroleum consumption include electric cars and fuel cell-powered hydrogen cars.

Hybrid car may be partly fossil fueled and partly electric or hydrogen-powered.One drawback to all hybrids is that they cost more than their conventional counterparts. The extra expense is for the added technology. Conventional vehicles have only a gasoline engine. Hybrids have the gasoline engine along with one or more electric motors connected to a battery pack that automatically recharges itself.

But the one consumer decision most people make which impacts the greatest on the environment is the choice of car we drive.A gallon of gasoline weighs just over 6 pounds. When burned, the carbon in it combines with oxygen from the air to produce nearly 20 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2). By switching from a gas guzzler to a hybrid , you can literally save the earth a couple of tons of greenhouse gases. These electric and gas powered machines not only save resources and money, but also help preserve the environment. The growing environmental concerns and rising gas prices are convincing more and more people to choose a hybrid.

My next new car definitely going to be a hybrid. How about you?

Movie ムービー - Kung Fu Panda

The movie " Kung Fu Panda" ,in addition to Hoffman(Shifu ,the trainer), McShane(Tai Lung) and Black (Panda), Angelina Jolie (Tigress), Lucy Liu (Viper), Seth Rogan (Mantis), Jackie Chan (Monkey) and David Cross (Crane) have voice over roles.

The movie was directed by Mark Osborne and John Stevenson, "Kung Fu Panda" has something for just about everyone.I personally think that it's the right mix of humor, action and drama, and it's all carried out wonderfully through a superb story and excellent animation work.

This movie is one of the best family films of 2008,truly worth watching it with your family. The most of all, with a positively simple message -- believe in yourself -- as they enter the "Panda."

Enjoy the movie!
