Maintaining Good Health | WIC Initiatives Highlight National Nutrition Month; 'Public Awareness Initiatives Include Open House'

 Oneida County's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program, in conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension's Eat Smart New York (ESNY), has programmed a accumulation of initiatives written to elevate open recognition of the purpose of correct nourishment in progressing good health, Dr. Gayle Jones, Director of Health voiced.

"Eat Smart New York and the WIC module share the familiar objective of providing both supplemental benefit and preparation on the vicious inlet of correct nourishment and strong eating day to day to protection expansion and development via the lives," Jones said.

The actions will prominence National Nutrition Month and add a few events open to the open via the month of March. On Thursday, Mar 10th WIC and ESNY can experienced in a wellness satisfactory sponsored by Donovan Middle School from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. The satisfactory is expected for students, parents and expertise and will give a strong break along with informative materials on the WIC and ESNY programs.
On Thursday, Mar 17th WIC and ESNY invites the open to attend an ‘Open House’ at the Cornell Cooperative Extension located at 121 Second Street in Oriskany from 10am to 2pm. Games and work-out are programmed and a strong break will be served.


The Rome Y will group with WIC and Eat Smart New York on Friday, Mar 18th from 12 noon to 2pm in Rome in presenting an informative module on the benefits of correct nourishment and ways working family groups can widen their food budgets.
During the final week of February, a WIC informational flyer and a bread pudding recipe were mailed to all day caring providers participating in the Child and Adult Care Food (CACFP) Program in a 3 county area. Recipients were asked to give their feedback by returning an trustworthy questionnaire. Respondents will be authorised to win one of 5 grocery present cards in a diagram to be hold during National Nutrition Month.
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. mentioned the National Nutrition Month actions are a ‘good fit’ with other health initiatives he has spearheaded by the health department.

"A objective of ours has been to make as many people wakeful of the benefits of correct nourishment and a strong lifestyle as you presumably can. These initiatives act for the types of overdo you have been focusing on to attain that goal, and I praise all parties entangled for their efforts," Picente said.
