Piano | Vero Beach Opera Announces New Scholarships For Piano

Vero Beach Opera has announced that it has expanded its program of scholarships for study grants for scholarships in piano and voice, which have been proposed in recent years. Talented and dedicated young piano students, on the coast of Treasury who need financial assistance to achieve their musical goals may require a subsidy of private study with Dr. Marcos Daniel Flores.

"The scholarships in piano are a natural extension of our voice scholarship program," Dr. Joan Ortega-Cowan, president of the Vero Beach Opera, he said. "The piano has always been closely linked to the opera, and our organization was in favor of young musical talent since its inception."

Applications for a limited number of scholarships are now being accepted for the piano, ending on June 1st. A copy of the application and instructions for sending can be downloaded from Vero Beach Opera site. Or requested by phone, (772) 569-6993.

All students under 18 years or more, but actively enrolled in a school of music is permissible. The hearing will be required as the last step in the process and the scholarships will be awarded by July 1. Study will start with Flores shortly after and will be adapted to the capabilities of the recipient of fellowships s' and objectives.
Flores is a popular concert pianist, with over 25 years of teaching experience. In addition to his own concert career, he worked as organist and pianist and worship of Christ in Art by the Sea Methodist Church in Vero Beach. He holds a Bachelor of Music Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, a Masters degree in piano literature from the Eastman School of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University.
"The study of the piano requires many years of individual instruction, and a piano for practice, which can be expensive," said Patricia Sawyer, president of the scholarship for piano. "It is financially impossible for many families on the coast of the Treasury. One scholarship piano Vero Beach Opera might raise some of that financial burden."

Piano Scholarships are funded solely by contributions from individual donors. To make a tax-deductible donation to the fund, send a check payable to "Vero Beach Opera, Inc." with "piano scholarship" in the memo field and send it to Vero Beach Opera, PO Box 6912, Vero Beach, Florida 32961.
